In 1926, he made his first successful entry into the Imperial Exhibition and continued to gain recognition with subsequent entries. He specializes in gentle and distinctive paintings of beautiful women, such as Kyoto beauties. The particular beauty painting depicts a woman resting her elbow on her cheek and laying down a book, portraying a slit-eyed beauty taking a break during reading, seemingly sleepy, skillfully capturing a casual moment of daily life.
