The book is profusely illustrated, featuring 30 beautiful colour plates, including frontispiece by the well-known and popular illustrator Margaret Tarrant (“Margaret Winifred Tarrant (1888 – 1959) was an English illustrator, and children's author, specializing in depictions of fairy-like children and religious subjects. She began her career at the age of 20, and painted and published into the early 1950s. She was known for her children's books, postcards, calendars, and print reproductions”).

Condition:
(Lovely Copy). Firm and well-bound copy. Light wear at boards’ corners, and to head and tail of slightly faded spine. Internally; the book in very good condition. Pen mark on top first front free endpaper page. Pages are clean, and unmarked. All plates are present and in very good condition (Please see pictures).
