A single folio page covering Chapter 39, Az-Zumar (The Successive), v.49-55, from a 16th Century Qur'an. The folio consists of 12 lines of continuous text in black nasta'liq and two illuminated 'Juz' marginal roundels indicating 5th or 10th verse (in this case v50 and 55). The scripture is framed with two full gold frame lines and a red and outer blue. The condition is very good for its age.

There are multiple 'aya' marking the verses within the scripture and diacritical (devotional markings) in red to provide guidance to the devotee. There is also commentary in the right margin shown in image 9d, but it is not possible to make out what it says.

Please note that shipping costs are not solely the cost of the postal delivery service itself. Included within the shipping price is the work undertaken to prepare the article, for photography, for uploading to Catawiki, for preparation and packaging the article securely and for transporting the article to the postal delivery agent for processing.

Lovely 19th century manuscript miniature that arrived early, and nicely mounted with a bibliographical note. A very fine seller that I return to bid and buy from often. Thank you.

Thanks so much for this feedback. Yes - damned Brexit. All the fault of in-fighting in the UK Govt and a mistaken belief that a vote would make it all go away! It has caused small business and private individuals a good deal of unnecessary trouble.
