Tabletop globe - 1963 - Donati Milano
This is a beautiful and decorative antique Mercator globe in a wooden stand with a beautiful and colorful antique map image. It has a warm walnut finish and was printed in 1963 by Italian editor Donati in Milan.
The constellations, months, and landscape zones with the degrees in Italian are on the rings around the globe. The globe also contains many mythical creatures, including a fire-breathing dragon.
The globe can be opened like a box by using the top of the ring as a handle. Inside, it is lined with red velvet and can be used as a pocket emptier, candy holder, playing card holder, jewelry holder, etc.
This globe with the ring has a diameter of around 30 cm. Its height is approximately 35 cm.
Total weight: 1.7 kg.
Conditions: The structure is stable and has no breakages. There are some signs of wear on the map covering the globe at the points of greatest contact. These small marks do not compromise the object's aesthetics in any way. The globe is in fairly neat antique condition with light signs of wear, which makes it more beautiful.
