The story is set in a Leper village in the Belgian Congo.
Graham Greene took inspiration for this novel from his own travels in the Congo and Cameroons.
The book is dedicated to his friend, Dr Michel Lechat, who worked at the Leper colony in Yonda.
A very good, collectable, first edition copy of this work.
