Contemporary handcolour.
Full titles as follows:
-Massaroni con li suoi Compagni sono sorpresi dalla forza mentre erano in Monticelli, facendo un Festino di allegria.
-Essendi stati uccisi li Compagni di Massaroni, ed il medesimo ferito a morte, vien, presto, della forza, e condotto della Carceri, il quale dopo due giorni mori, e sua testa fu portata in Napoli.
-Rissa Romanesca.
Massaroni (1793-1822) was a bandit chief, idolised by his followers, who dominated the road from Rome to Naples from 1818 to 1822 when he was finally killed.
Condition is good. Some surface dirt. Some stains.
