This is an auction for a high quality tulwar, likely Mughal India, 19th century.
The sword is in good antique condition and retains about half of its original silver plating to the hilt, also retains some of its sharpness with a few nicks to the blade.
The blade is of a Killij type and features a sharpened jelman.
Blade sits solidly in hilt with all of the original adhesive intact.
Overall in firm solid condition, no rattle or excessive gaps.
Likely Wootz steel with a very faint crystalline pattern visible, but in order to be sure the new owner would have to etch and polish the blade. Overall a very collectible good quality antique.
The sword weighs about 880 gramms.
Length is 75 cm along the curvature of the blade, and 83 cm from end of hilt to tip, hilt from tip of langeds to terminal washer is 18 cm, grip area is about 8 cm, roomy for a Tulwar.
