WINE DESCRIPTION

A very rare bottle out of one barrique produced (some 240 bottles and few magnums produced) of the already legendary Dominio del Aguila highly regarded by wine professionals.

"The Dominio del Águila Taravante Barrica Singular 2018 reflects my soul as well as the terroir of the Ribera del Duero in perfection. I only made one barrique. So there are only around 240 bottles and a few magnums of this wine. The grapes come from the very old Taravante vineyard, which lies at an impressive altitude between Canta la Perdiz and Peñas Aladas (both locations of 100 Parker point wines). The vines were already planted by my great-grandfather and are the best my winery has to offer". (Jorge Monzon)

Grape variety: 95% Tempranillo and 5% others (Garnacha, Albillo, Bobal, Cariñena) from vines over 100 years old
Aging: 35 months in French oak barriques
Alcohol content: 15% vol

WINERY
Dominio del Aguila was founded by Jorge Monzon and his wife Isabel Rodero who decided to combine their enthusiasm to make high quality wines. The estate has 30 hectares of very old organically grown vineyards. Jorge, who comes from a family of winegrowers, studied viticulture and oenology in Bordeaux and Burgundy and worked at the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Grupo Vega Sicilia and Bodegas Arzuaga. Tempranillo is the protagonist of their vineyards, but there are also other indigenous varieties such as Bobal, Garnacha and Albillo.
