Guaranteed authentic! Made by the prestigious Heian Zohiko, which has been upholding the traditions of Kyoto lacquerware for over 350 years since its founding in 1661. A traditional carp maki-e inkstone box.An elegant piece, with a carp swimming lively in a pond depicted in rough, high-lacquer lacquer on a fully pear-patterned ground.The inside features a silver-plated chrysanthemum-shaped water dropper and inkstone.It is thought to be a work from the time of the eighth generation Nishimura Hikobei, a master craftsman who won numerous awards at the World Exposition and Domestic Industrial Exposition from the end of the Meiji period to the early Showa period and achieved worldwide fame. Signed on the base.
Comes with original box and bookmark.
