The series of paintings presented features familiar figures close to the life of the painter. Despite the ghostly and unreal side of the characters, the composition is sober, highlighting a person, true incarnation of a particular moment in the life of the painter.
the few objects present in the paintings serve as clues to understand the stories of these muses, reflecting their dreams and aspiration for a better life, or more simply a different life.

This desire to focus on substance rather than form, coupled with his admiration for the brutalist scene, is reflected by the diversity of materials used in his works. his previous works mix, gouache, acrylic, ink, paint bombs, pastel without distinction, giving an almost tactile dimension to the canvas.

In this series he mainly uses oil painting to keep a homogeneity of soft and calm colors, and deforms the canvas by cutting, burning, scratching the paint half dry, creating deep but barely perceptible marks, like the hidden stories of his characters, beautiful and broken.

"The meaning of my signature, this alias that I have carried with me since I started painting, a little over 5 years ago now. .
DEADEND like RASPUTIN are the names of two characters who had a profound impact on me.
They are quite similar in their construction, self-proclaimed and assumed villain, one protagonist of his series, the second recurring antagonist, they seek to live their lives freely, without any attachment, whether moral or physical.
Considered abnormal, borderline, deranged, sociopathic or even psychopathic, they stand out with a beauty of their own, created from this marginality with which they are overwhelmed, transforming this suffering into such a singular pride.
They become anti-heroes, magnificent losers."

BIO : Born in 1998 in Paris Deadend is a self-taught painter, still based in Paris.

After joining the AOKIGAHARA collective founded by his friend Takeshi HRTBRK, musician and director, they decide to organize multidisciplinary events to show social problems such as police violence, racism and mental health condition.

Over the years his style will evolve, using a vision of composition and gestures close to the brutalist movement and the World War II post scene, he will exacerbate the dreamlike and acerbic side of his canvases to create unreal frescoes used as scenery for everyday problems.

Like his reference models (Bacon, Guston, Chagall), he will gradually focus on his family and friends to talk about their attempts to understand contemporary social phenomena and how they affect them.

Sex drugs, social pressure, the precarious side of their living conditions are drowned out by his paintings, with the main subject of mental condition, which according to him is not considered a priority in France.
