Very scarce and charming copy, written by one of England's greatest and most popular novelists. Beautifully illustrated by Arthur I. Keller (1866-1924), with 8 attractive coloured plates including coloured frontispiece, and several black and white full page plates.
Published by W. & R. Chambers, London, 1940s. Publishers’ original cream and red boards with green decorations, illustration with green and red, and gilt lettering on upper cover. Titles in brown to spine. Decorated endpaper pages.
Book Dimensions: 19 x 13 cm and Number of Pages: 130
Condition:
(Handsome Copy) A well-preserved copy. External cover are clean and in nice shape, with light wear to corners. Internally; the book is in very good condition indeed. Old inscription dated ‘Xmas 1953’ on top front first free endpaper page. Pages are clean with light foxing marks to the margin of some pages. All colour plates are present, and bright (Please see pictures).
