The Carrera reissue was introduced with three models in the range: a Carrera with a black dial and stainless steel case (CS3111), a Carrera with a white dial and stainless steel case (CS3110) and a Carrera with a white dial and 18-carat gold case (CS3140).

This first Carrera reissue was faithful to the original 1963 Heuer Carrera in virtually every respect, from its 36 mm stainless steel case, to the geometry of the pushers and crown, as well as the design of the dial and subdial. All three versions of the 1996 Carrera reissue feature the decimal scale stamped on the dial, as featured on one of the 1963 versions available (reference 2447 D). The decimal minute scale evokes the Carrera chronograph's use as an automotive tool, with rally and navigation instructions being expressed in hundredths of a minute, rather than seconds. The key to distinguishing the reissue from the original 1963 models is the word "Carrera" present on the dial of the original models, above the Heuer shield, an element that is not found on the reissue.
