Tom Wood - Termini - 2018

“There is life in Tom Wood’s photographs… Faces of 1979, smiles from 1979, at the end of a world. Liverpool’s Pier Head the ferry port, a space reserved for passage, immortalised in this series of images… Decades later, we see these individuals… these faces whose expressions stop me. The more I look at them, the more they seem complex, difficult to decipher even when everything is there, before my eyes.” - Jakuta Alikavazovic, Liberation France 2018 - New, mint, unread; still originally in publisher's plastic foil. COLLECTOR'S COPY. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PHOTOBOOK - wonderful design, great printing, excellent photography by Tom Wood. A SMALL MASTERPIECE - by the photographer of "Looking for Love" and "All zones off peak" (Martin Parr, The Photobook, vol 1, page 308). SOLD-OUT and VERY SOUGHT-AFTER. Welcome to the LAST PHOTOBOOK AUCTION by 5Uhr30.com starting this year - with more than 100 great lots from my personal collection and from recent acquisitions. “Termini arrives as the latest chapter in what is, despite its epic scope, a determinedly street-level, human-scale story... The more we look at the photographs, the more the act of passing time is absorbed into that most enduring of human subjects, the delicate yet urgent matter of time passing.” - David Chandler, Financial Times Magazine, 23/24 December 2017 - Like always we guarantee detailed and accurate descriptions, 100% transport protection, 100% transport insurance and of course combined shipping - worldwide. Éditions GwinZegal, Guingamp. 2018. First edition, first printing. Hardcover in linen with dustjacket. 270 x 180 mm. 131 pages. Photos: Tom Wood. Conception: Tom Wood, Jérome Sother. Text: Paul Farley. Text in English. Great photobook - in perfect condition. Published on the occasion of the exhibitions at "Centre d'art GwinZegal, Guingamp", at "Centre photographique Rouen-Normandie" and at "Open Eye Gallery, Liverpool". We THANK YOU SO MUCH to make our single-seller photobook auctions on Catawiki so successful. Ecki Heuser & team are wishing ALL THE BEST TO YOU AND YOURS for 2025. Tom Wood was born in 1951 in County Mayo in the west of Ireland. He lived and worked on Merseyside between 1978 and 2003 before he moved to his current home in North Wales. Wood has published numerous books, including Bus Odyssey, People, All Zones Off Peak and Looking for Love. He has had solo and group exhibitions worldwide and his work is represented in the collections of major museums.
