Superb Udjat in blue pale faience from the Late Period (664-332 B.C). In Egypt, it has its origin in the so-called ‘Eye of Horus’, or Udyat, which means ‘the one who is complete’. It protected, purified and healed. It symbolised the sun and embodied order, the perfect state. The Eye of Horus is one of the oldest Egyptian amulets.
