Extensive Ming Jade, Calyx Ware, Dinner Service by Adams

Adams was one of the leading ceramic manufacturers in Stoke-on-Trent. From 1966 onwards, it was part of the Wedgwood Group, until a devastating fire in the nineties burned the factory down. It was decided not to rebuild the factory: Adams had specialised in iron stone, a very heavy and strong kind of ceramics, and its production (esp. the transport of finished goods) was deemed to be too expensive.

The Ming Jade Service (in production from 1974 to 1986) was one of Adams' most famed creations. The iron stone body is covered in a beautiful transparent celadon green glaze (Calyx Ware), and decorated with coloured transfers, depicting oriental flowers. The shape of this service is called 'Hexagon Shape' (although in reality it is an octagonal shape).

The dinner service consists of 47 pieces:
- 12 dinner plates (26,2 cm / 10 1/4")
- 12 soup plates (22,6 cm / 9")
- 12 dessert plates (22,6 cm / 9")
- 2 covered vegetable tureens (width: 26,2 cm /10 1/4", height: 16,5 cm / 6 1/2")
- 2 gravy boats: one a very good condition, the other crazed (width: 20 cm / 8", height: 11,5cm / 4 1/2")
- 1 relish/gravy underplate (length: 20 cm / 8", width: 13,3 cm / 5 1/4")
- 1 sauce tureen with lid and underplate (total: width 17,6 cm / 7", height: 17 cm / 6 3/4")
- 1 oval serving platter (length: 30,2 cm / 12", width: 23,1 cm / 9")

This dinner service would be a great and very festive addition to your Christmas table!

Due to its weight, the service will be shipped in three parts. You can also collect the items in Eindhoven (NL).
