1985 Quinta da Romaneira Vintage Port 1 x 1.50L
1 Magnum Bottle
Port Wine

DESCRIPTION
Romaneira is one of the largest properties in the region, with a total of 412 hectares and 3 kilometers of riverfront on the Douro River. The vines are planted on terraces on the steep slopes of the property. With many valleys and headlands, Romaneira contains diverse microclimates and several slopes exposed to the southeast, south and southwest. Several Romaneira wines are site-specific and come from small, individual plots within the Quinta. Other wines such as Dona Clara or Reserva come from various locations throughout the Quinta, reflecting the complexity and diversity of the entire vineyard. All of our wines are made exclusively from grapes from our vineyard, a distinctive feature of Quinta da Romaneira wines.

WINE VARIETIES: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca & Tinto Cão.

VINIFICATION
The grapes were crushed using traditional treading and vinified in stainless steel presses. Intense and disciplined treading was essential for the quality of the wine. The fermentation temperature ranged between 25ºC and 28º C. It aged for around 20 months in barrels or vats before being bottled. Despite being ready for immediate consumption, it has the capacity to age in the bottle which will allow it to acquire, over time, the complexity and bouquet characteristic of a vintage.

TASTING NOTES
It has an intense ruby purple color and a surprising aromatic character. In the mouth it is quite elegant, with a real fruit flavor. The tannins are quite velvety, elegant, with a pleasant finesse on the finish.

SERVING
Served after dinner, it pairs well with cheeses from the Serra da Estrela region of Portugal, Stilton, Gorgonzola and other full-fat cheeses. An ideal accompaniment to a strong cigar. Should be opened two hours before serving and decanted. Serve between 17ºC and 18ºC.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a recurring auction. The seal number(s) you see on the photos might differ from the one(s) on your bottle(s).

The package was safely packed. It took a little while to get here, but I don't think that is the fault of the vender. Very happy with my purchase.
