This is a beautiful vintage French Christofle silver plate candle holder with handle is designed in the stylish “Coquille” (shell) pattern. It bears the maker’s marks of the famous Maison Christofle in Paris, the name “Christofle” written in block letters contained in a rectangle below the maker’s mark which is comprised of the initials “O.C.” (Orfèvrerie Christofle) surrounding the image of a scale surmounted by four stars. There is a second maker’s mark consisting of the word “France” and the initials “O.C.” (Orfèvrerie Christofle) surrounding the figure of a knight from a chess set.
This candle holder is in very good condition with the exception of faint scratches due to normal use.
