【Important notes】

・International Buyers: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.
・Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. These duties are paid to your country's customs office and not to us. Prompt payment of these fees is necessary to ensure delivery of your item.
・We deeply value your understanding regarding the blade's export process. The duration to secure an export permit might extend up to a month, and shipping, based on the destination, could take an additional month. In some instances, sea freight may be chosen, which might lengthen the delivery period to 2-3 months.
・Considering the diligence required for export permit procedures, we'd like to emphasize the importance of commitment after purchase. If the auction is annulled post-confirmation, there's a need to retract the said permit. In such situations, to cover administrative efforts, a fee equating to 10% of the auction's final amount would be requested via PayPal.
・We kindly request bids from those who fully acknowledge these conditions. Please be informed that the original registration document is required to be returned to official authorities, so a copy will be provided with the sword.

・AUSTRIA, BELGIUM, and UK prohibits the import of swords, so please refrain from bidding.

【Product details】

This remarkable katana is a testament to the enduring craftsmanship of the Echizen Yasutsugu lineage, known for their prestigious role as the official swordsmiths to the Tokugawa Shogunate. Originating from the Edo period, this blade was forged by the second-generation Yasutsugu, a direct descendant and successor of the first Echizen Yasutsugu who was personally appointed by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the most renowned Shogun in Japanese history.

The blade, measuring 71 cm in length with a curvature of 1.7 cm, exhibits a beautiful hamon that showcases the skillful artistry of its creator. It bears the prestigious Tokugawa family crest (aoi-mon).

Certified by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (NBTHK) as a Koshu Tokubetsu Kicho (especially precious) sword, this katana is accompanied by the respective certificate, assuring its authenticity and value. The sword is also accompanied by a copy of its Firearms and Swords Registration Certificate from Kanagawa Prefecture (No. 38169), issued on July 16, 1964, as the original document will be returned to the authorities.

The blade has only minor scratches and no significant flaws. It is housed in a plain scabbard, and comes with a bag. Please refer to the photos for detailed condition.

Length of the blade: 91 cm
Total length including scabbard: 101 cm
