This Citizen Highness is a date only version of the 71 edition and is the 28 jewel into 7430 movement, running at 36,000 beats per hour. The ‘Highness’ is top of the top range of all automatics Citizen ever made up to 1971 ,Since it is a chronometer grade piece, although not ‘officially certified’ , it became a desirable piece for collectors. The Highness models had their own special dial logo printed ‘Highness’ in a unique gothic style of font – and that’s what we see here. With quick-set date, hand wing and hacking, and a compact size – about 37mm excluding crown – it is a smart and versatile dress watch. The Highness line emerged in 1970, and this one is from July 1971 (see back watch photo!)
