Paul Clemen, the author, was a renowned German art historian known for his work on medieval architecture and art. Born on October 31, 1866, in Leipzig, Clemen studied art history in Bonn, Berlin, and Strasbourg. He held various academic positions throughout his career, including professor at the University of Bonn. His research focused on the conservation and study of artistic monuments, and he was one of the first to adopt a rigorous scientific approach to the study and preservation of cultural heritage.

In Belgische Kunstdenkmäler, Clemen examines in detail the artworks and monuments of Belgium, offering in-depth analyses and detailed descriptions of each period. He covers not only religious and civil architecture but also sculptures, paintings, and decorative art objects that have marked the history of Belgian art.

In goede staat ontvangen. Heel graag tot de volgende keer!
