DESCRIPTION
Serrano Mira is the surname that results from the union of two families that have been producing wine in Alentejo for 13 generations. Serrano Mira is also the name of the wine group led by Luis Serrano Mira, which includes the Alentejo Herdade das Servas and Casa da Tapada, in the Vinhos Verdes region.
The Serrano Mira family's connection with this universe dates back to 1667, a date attested by two carvings that were passed down from generation to generation.
In Alentejo and under the Herdade das Servas umbrella, Serrano Mira oversees a wine heritage of around 350 hectares, divided into eight distinct vineyards, but which complement each other in their identity: Azinhal, Cardeira Nova, Cardeira Velha, Clérigo, Judia, Louseira, Pêro Lobo and Servas. Located in the municipalities of Estremoz and Borba, they are installed at an average altitude of 300 meters, between Serra d’Ossa and Serra de São Mamede.
Oenology is led by Luís Serrano Mira and Renato Neves, and Herdade das Servas is equipped with the most modern reception, vinification and aging technology, producing wines with tradition, time, wisdom and quality.

WINEMAKERS: Renato Neves.

92 Points, Decanter World Wine Awards (2014 Vintage)

WINE VARIETIES: Alicante Bouschet (45%), Trincadeira (20%), Touriga Nacional (30%) & Petit Verdot (5%).

VINIFICATION
The grapes were sorted manually, destemmed and underwent pre-fermentation maceration. Fermentation itself was carried out in “Lagares” and stainless steel vats with temperature control. After undergoing malolactic fermentation, the wine spent 18 months in new French oak barrels. Once bottled, the wine was then aged for a further 24 months in our cellar. In order to maintain its unique characteristics, this wine has not been stabilised and may create sediments naturally.

TASTING NOTES
Clear wine with garnet color and hints of violet. Aromas of plum, cherry, fig, chocolate, spice and floral notes of violet. Complex, constructive, fresh and elegant. Smoked notes, rich tannins and a long finish, revealing the full potential for storage and aging.

SERVING
It can be enjoyed with red meat, game, cheese and intense sausages. Serve between 16ºC and 18ºC. Decantation is recommended.
