A group of four books on World War I and its aftermath. Mixed condition.

A. Fenner Brockway - "The Bloody Traffic", published by Victor Gollancz in London, 1933. First Edition. Hardback, 288 pages. Good, still somewhat fresh condition, some minor wear on dust jacket, upper and lower edges of spine and upper side on front cover. No markings, good inside.

A book on the activities of munitions manufacturers, which in general are hard to trace. The authors makes out a strong case, pointing out the international connections of the manufacturers of that time, their practice of supplying weapons to governments hostile to their own, their systematic encouragement of war-preparedness campaigns, their use of bribery and press manipulation and their work behind the scenes at disarmament conferences.

Henri Strasburger, Casimir Smogorzewski, Otto Hoetzsch et al. - "Dantzig et quelques aspects du probleme Germano-Polonais", published in Paris, 1932, Centre Europeen de la Dotation Carnegie, Publications De La Conciliation Internationale. First Edition. Paperback, 315 pages. Stained on upper edge front cover and minor stained front guard page. Really small tear back cover and some creasing on back cover. Otherwise a reasonably good copy, well-preserved, tight and sharp-cornered. No markings.

Published by Payot in Paris, in 1925, within the "Collection de memoirs, etudes et documents pour servir a l'histoire de la guerre mondiale". Paperback, 308 pages, reasonably fine copy, some minor soiling on front cover and back cover, a number of pages still uncut.

In 1910 Buchanan was appointed as the British Ambassador in Russia. A journalist friend of his, working for the Daily Chronicle, kept him informed of the political developments in Russia and arranged for him to meet some of the leading reformists in the country. Although with deeply held conservative views, Buchanan developed good relationships with liberal politicians in Russia during the revolution. Buchanan‘s autobiography, "My Mission to Russia and Other Diplomatic Memories", was first published in English in 1923.

Nicholas Murray Butler - "Points de vue" - published in Paris, 1931. Paperback, reasonably fine condition. Some spotting, occasional small staining, lower left corner of front cover a bit wavy. No markings.
