A beautiful, tall 6-panel byôbu 屏風 (folding screen) featuring a tranquil painting in black ink on gold leaf, depicting carps 鯉 (koi) and a few other fish gracefully swimming in a pond.
The screen is framed by two brocade silk borders—a thin green one and a broader brown one adorned with a floral design. It is protected by a black lacquered wooden frame with metal hardware.
Period: Japan – Taishô period (1912-1926).
Dimensions:
Total width: 376.8 cm (2 x 64.2 cm, 4 x 62.1 cm); Height: 171.1 cm.
In a very good condition with some traces of wear conform age and restorations. Small imperfections in lower left corner Please have a look at the photos for a condition reference.
The folding screen is ideal for mounting flat on a wall and presenting as a single work of art.
When shipped we will add a certificate of authenticity.
