2017 Biondi Santi, Tenuta Greppo - Brunello di Montalcino DOCG - 1 Bouteille (0,75 l)

Brunello di Montalcino Biondi Santi comes from the prestigious Sangiovese Grosso vineyards grown within the estate of the same name which extends over a vine-growing area of ​​47 hectares. The rocky and skeletal soils, the unique microclimate of the place, the strong temperature range between night and day and that Mediterranean sun which warms the soil for more than half the year have created the perfect conditions for growing high quality grapes. Yields are kept very low, around 30-50 quintals per hectare, and the harvest takes place manually, selecting bunch by bunch in the central weeks of September. The grapes, taken to the cellar, are vinified and aged in Slavonian oak barrels for at least 3 years. It finishes its journey in the bottle, where it remains to rest for at least 4 months.

Greppo Brunello lights up the glass with an intense ruby ​​red color with garnet nuances. The nose is broad and complex, in which sensations of small red fruits, notes of dried rose, touches of vanilla, toasted hints, coffee powder and hints of undergrowth dance in unison and give rise to a truly exciting olfactory melody. On the palate it shows all its strength and power with elegance and refined class. Warm, persistent, soft, tannic and balanced: all embroidered to perfection and integrated into a decidedly harmonious structure. To try at least once in your life, perhaps accompanying it with a typical dish such as pici with Cinta Senese ragù, or with wild boar and mushrooms, tagliolini with truffle, pappardelle with hare or pheasant with chestnuts and mushrooms.
