Marvelous Art Deco Rosenthal porcelain group of putto with a Saint Bernard dog, designed by the famous German artist Max Herman Fritz in 1933 for the Selb Art Department, in perfect condition.
The sculpture is depicting a naked boy holding the ear of a much, bigger than him, Saint Bernard dog, while sharing a secret.
Polychrome hand painted in naturalistic colors, glazed dog and base, matte finish of the child, great collector item.
Max Hermann Daniel Fritz (1873 - 1948) was a reputed sculptor and medal-designer in Germany, that worked for Rosenthal between 1926 and 1946.
It is in excellent more to pristine condition, impressed marked on the top of the base with the artist name M.H.Fritz and impressed numbered #1259, Rosenthal specific year mark of 1935 year, original perfect Rosenthal golden paper label, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
