Akarui Hadaka (1 December 2004) is a collection of works by Kishin Shinoyama, one of Japan's leading post-war photographers. There was a time when he was known as Nobuyoshi Araki for eroticism, Daido Moriyama for art and Kishin Shinoyama for commercials, and while his nude works of actresses such as Rie Miyazawa, Kanako Higuchi and Saki Takaoka are generally well known, his artistry is also highly regarded because of his mastery of commercial photography. In his book Power Designing (1984), Katsumi Aburatani, who designed many of Nobuyoshi Araki's books, states that A Fine Day is the textbook of photography books, while another leading Japanese photographer, Takuma Nakahira, has also expressed his respect for Shinoyama's healthy and straightforward style in books such as Duel Photography, which he co-authored with Shinoyama. He has also shown respect for Shinoyama's healthy and straightforward work in books such as Dueling Photographs, co-authored with Shinoyama. This book is from the pure nude ‘Akarui Hadaka’ series, which was serialised in Shukan Post magazine from the early 2000s.

Shogakukan Archives Best Library 22 Kishin Shinoyama Acarui Hadaka, a collection of photographs by Kishin Shinoyama, one of Japan's leading photographers. Along with Nobuyoshi Araki and others, Kishin Shinoyama is one of the leading photographers of post-war Japan. While he is renowned for his portraits of women, including gravure, childe and nudes, Shinoyama also had a strong curiosity about the ‘human smell’ of architecture, space and food, and continued to depict the ‘atmosphere of the times’ in a wide variety of fields to satisfy his visual desires. This book is the 22nd issue of the ‘Best Library: Masterpiece Photo Gallery’ series of books published by Shogakukan, which ‘enjoys photography and talks about photography’ through introducing the masterpieces and famous books of renowned photographers, and introduces Shinoyama's digital photo series ‘Akarui Hadaka’, which ‘brightens up dark times’.
