This is a Noh mask of Omoikane-no-Mikoto思兼命 used in Bitchu Kagura備中神楽.
This product was given to us by a collector who had owned it for a long time, and is a work by Kiyosuke Tanabe田邊聖祐, a sculptor born in Bisei Town, Okayama Prefecture岡山県美星町.

There are some small scratches here and there, but the condition of the product as a whole is very good, and you can see that it was carefully preserved by a collector.

In Japan, Omoikane no Mikoto is worshiped as the god of wisdom.
If you work in a creative job, or you often have to rack your brains to solve problems, or if you are studying hard,

Bitchu Kagura備中神楽:
Bitchu Kagura is a form of Kagura that has been passed down in the Bitchu region. It was also called Aragami Kagura because the god of Aragami is invited and performed in front of him.

Aragami is a god in folk belief, and although he is a fearsome deity, he has been worshiped as the guardian deity of homes, villages, and cattle and horses used in farming.

Bitchu Kagura was designated as a nationally important intangible folk cultural property in 1979.


Omoikane-no-Mikoto思兼命:
A god who appears in Japanese mythology. A god of great wisdom, he is the god of wisdom who came up with the scenario for rescuing Amaterasu from the cave in the legend of Ama-no-Iwato.


Kiyosuke Tanabe田邊聖祐:
Born in Bisei Town, Okayama Prefecture, he is a sculptor who is sometimes described as being on par with the master of modern sculpture, Hirakushi Denchu平櫛田中, who continued to be active even at the age of 100.


Donsu-ori緞子織
Its English name is Japanese damask weave.
The technique was introduced from the Ming Dynasty in China, and it began to be woven in Nishijin, Kyoto, and is said to have become established as a kimono fabric at the beginning of the Edo period.

Along with brocade, which is made by weaving patterns using gold leaf and gold thread, it is considered synonymous with high-quality textiles.
