Gnathia Calyx Krater with TL – 4th - 3rd century BC

A krater was a large two-handled type of vase in Ancient Greek pottery and metalwork, mostly used for the mixing of wine with water.

Gnathia vases are a type of pottery belonging to ancient Apulian vase painting of the 4th century BC. They are named after the ancient city of Gnathia (now Egnazia) in Eastern Apulia.

This slim krater has glazed greenish handles. It is damaged in its interior, and has been restored.
