Takashi Murakami "The 500 Arhats" Exhibition Official Catalog (2015 Mori Art Museum)
This catalog is the official record of Takashi Murakami's "The 500 Arhats" Exhibition held at the Mori Art Museum in 2015. It is written in both Japanese and English and is currently out of print. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain a new copy on Japanese e-commerce sites. This copy was purchased from the limited stock available at the ongoing "Mononoke Kyoto Exhibition."
The title work, "The 500 Arhats," was created in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake and depicts mystical beings such as the 500 Arhats, Suzaku, Seiryu, Byakko, and Genbu. This monumental piece was completed in a short period with the help of over 200 art students from all over Japan. It explores themes of religion, art, death, and the limits of humanity, while also possessing a pop art style reminiscent of manga and anime, along with a fantastical atmosphere that draws in viewers.
Additionally, a leaflet from the "Mononoke Kyoto Exhibition" will be included.

The catalog was removed from its transparent packaging only once to check the edition.
