This elegant-looking watch is rather an enigma. Although it shares the unique iconic Tag Heuer link bracelet, Mercedes hands and unidirectional rotating bezel with the Link S/el 200M Professional 2000 series, it features a 'granite' dial with a combination of circular (at 9 and 6 o'clock) and rectangular baton hour-markers, which the official Tag Heuer website states: "... is the trademark of the 1500 Series, being a finish that was never offered on any other series". The dial looks to be original and the luminous hour-markers exhibit a patina and loss of lume. The hands, however, do light up in the dark, which suggests they might be aftermarket. All said, please examine the photo's carefully so as to convince yourself you are purchasing a watch that meets your expectations.
The watch has a quartz movement and is in excellent condition with next to no surface wear. It runs smoothly and keeps excellent time. It comes with a new battery. Its service history is unknown, but thanks to Tag Heuer's reliable and robust movement, it runs like a charm. The watch is not water resistant due to battery replacement.
