A rare, antique Wedgwood cameo framed in gold-plated metal and a hand-polished intaglio of the image of a rampaging lion. The lion traditionally symbolizes courage, nobility, royalty, strength, dignity and valor. This bold matte navy blue ceramic jasper intaglio is decorated with an image of a rampaging lion and embossed gold leaf. FACT: This antique cameo is one of the last produced by Wedgwood's Stoke-on-Trent pottery and dates from 1950-1980. Being handmade and kiln fired makes it somewhat irregular and each setting must be adjusted to fit the specially designed setting.
