Description : A beautifully composed oil on canvas mid to later 19 th century Italian school depiction of a shepherdess weaving wool . The sitter is dressed in traditional costume and the painting is very rich in colour and tonality . We don't have data regarding the artists work which needs further researching but this is an extremely decorative and finely painted landscape. Condition report. In good overall condition for its age . A support patch was added as we noted a thin abrasion to one area of the back of the canvas There is a small area of corresponding retouching to the paint surface but the painting appears predominantly original without hardly any intervention.
