A beautiful green jasper Egyptian funerary scarab going back to the Late Period circa 664-332 BCE. The scarab is naturalistically modelled, with the back enhanced by engraved parallel lines. The amulet displays highly defined sculptural details including the carapace and clypeus of the beetle. It is pierced through an additional lug, attached to the underside of its prothorax. A fine beautifully carved example. Dimensions: 1.7 x 1.4 cm Weight: 3.1g Private UK collection before 1970. The item is legally present on the EU market and will posted according to the rules and laws of the destination country. Provenance documentation is available and will be sent upon request.
