Polar bears have a dense and water-resistant coat with a layer of insulating underfur. The fur appears white, which provides effective camouflage in their snowy environment. Their large, powerful paws are equipped with sharp claws and provide effective propulsion while swimming.
Polar bears have a layer of blubber that helps insulate them from the cold and provides energy reserves. Their small ears and short snout also help minimize heat loss.
