Commemorative Medal for the 11th Winter Olympic Games in Sapporo

This souvenir medal was issued to commemorate the 11th Sapporo Winter Olympics and to support the outstanding performances of our ski and skate athletes.

The design was entrusted to *Mr. Taro Okamoto, who symbolized "the joy of the Sapporo Games, where the passion and pride of youth dance in the silver-white world."

The material is a specially formulated high-purity zinc alloy, plated with either pure gold.

About Taro Okamoto:
Taro Okamoto was a prominent Japanese artist known for his avant-garde and dynamic style.
