Merovingian Bronze Brooch
Circa 5th-6th century AD
This nice fibula features a rhomboid footplate connected to a headplate via a prominent bow. The headplate is designed with a three finials, each ending in a pointed tip.
The Merovingian dynasty, which ruled from the 5th to the 8th century, played a significant role in early medieval European history. Originating from the Franks, the dynasty is particularly known for its founder, Merovech, and his descendants. The Merovingians are renowned for their contributions to the establishment of the Frankish Kingdom and the shaping of early medieval Europe.
