Pete Sinfield
December 27, 1943 in London, England) is an English poet, songwriter and singer.
Sinfield is best known for his role as the lyricist for the early King Crimson formations and Emerson, Lake and Palmer. He contributed lyrics to and produced the first four King Crimson albums (In the Court of the Crimson King, In the Wake of Poseidon, Lizard and Islands). He was also the lyricist for the Christmas carol I Believe in Father Christmas by Greg Lake.
Sinfield was also responsible for the band's light show and was therefore never seen live on stage.
– Still / Promo

At the time, Sinfield was involved with Emerson, Lake & Palmer, and Greg Lake assisted with vocals, while other King Crimson alumni provided assistance.
The cover artwork depicts "The Big Friend" by German artist Sulamith Wülfing.
