Pavel Ježek (1938- 1999) graduated from the Glass Vocational School in Železné Brod
under the professors Jaroslav Brychta, Miloslav Klinger and workshop
master Ladislav Ouhrabka. After graduation, he briefly worked at a school
plant n.p. Železný Brod, where he perfected his skills in metallurgical glass processing.
In 1960, he successfully passed the University exams
art and industry and from 1961 he received a company scholarship
Železnobrod glassworks at VŠUP. He first studied sculpture in
studio of prof. Josef Malejovský, then studied glassmaking for a year
with associate professor Václav Plátek and continued his studies in the years 1963 – 1967
in the glass studio of prof. Stanislav Libenský.
After graduating the school he joined the Železnobrodské sklo factory and in 1968
won the audition for the position of head of the metallurgical glass department at Central
glassmaking vocational school in Železné Brod.
From 1990 until his death, Pavel Ježek was the director of this school.
In addition to distinctive patterns of metallurgical glass, Pavel Ježek also designed
glass elements for architecture (glass wall in company Rakona
Rakovník) and stained glass and became famous for his glass sculptures.
