Superb Victorian silver-plated tea caddy in Rococo style. Bombe square form with rocaille scroll details to corners is raised on four bracket feet. There are four vacant cartouches accented with embossed flowerheads of roses and other flowers. The hinged lid is decorated with fluted folds of textured "fabric" Wonderfully ornate piece that is also small and decorative enough to be used on a vanity table or as a vide poche. Maker: George Richmond Collins & Co Origin: Birmingham, England Date: 19th 304 g 9 cm tall to rim 12.5 cm tall to finial 9 x 9 cm across widest point Very good antique condition. Wear to silvering appropriate to age and use. Two of the columns have tiny holes on top.
