Antique from the 19th century Materials: glass beads, leather, paper A delightful antique 19th century beaded leather miniature notebook. The leather binding is embossed with gold trailing foliage. The back and front are inset with a micro-beaded panel of the same design of an abstract floral or botanical motif in silver, pearl, shades of blue and gold on a beige background with black beads with scrolled corners in dark brown. The back side features the same motif with brown, silver, pearl and gold beading. With three loops for a pencil to hold the journal closed. The interior in ivory moire silk with a pocket to each cover. No notebook pages. Germany 1840-60. A very special object reflecting the skill of artisans of this time period!
