A disciple of Kiyosada Torii and his eldest son. His real surname is Saito, but his common name is Chokichi(長吉). His character is Koreno(惟蕙). He used artsign such as Nanryo(南陵), Kousai(蕙斎),Chotakogumansha(蝶蛸蜘之舎), and Gekigado(劇雅堂). He is from Tokyo.In 1892, at the age of 18, he studied painting with Mitate Kawabe of the Tosa school, and at the same time studied the painting style of the Torii school with his father, Kiyosada. Since the third generation, Kiyomitsu Torii, who was the sixth generation of the Torii school, had no successor, he succeeded the fourth generation, Kiyotada, and became the seventh generation head of the Torii school. He painted signboards and banzuke for the Kabukiza and Shintomiza theaters. At the end of the Meiji period, he also produced woodblock frontispieces. He passed away at the age of 67
