Céramique - Kutani Mokubei 九谷 木米 - Une figurine de Jurojin, l'un des Sept Dieux Chanceux 寿老人 - 19ème - 20ème siècle (Sans Prix de Réserve)

This is a figurine of Jurojin (God of Longevity) made by Mokubei 木米, a pottery artist from Kutani, approximately 150 years ago. Mokubei 木米 was born in the tea house "Kiya" in Gion, Kyoto. His real name was Aoki, but he was commonly known as "Yasohachi" because of his association with Kiya or the Aoki family and the abbreviation of "88" as "米" (kome) in Japanese. Thus, he adopted the name "Mokubei 木米." The origin of Mokubei 木米 dates back to around 100 years after the early Kutani era of the 1650s ended. The Kasugayama kiln was established in Kanazawa under the auspices of the Kaga domain to revive Kutani ware. This marked the beginning of Mokubei's pottery legacy. The bottom is inscribed with the name of Aoki Mokubei 青木木米. Jurojin is one of the Seven Lucky Gods. He is a deity with roots in Chinese Taoism. He is depicted as a short, long-headed old man, carrying a staff, a fan, and accompanied by a deer. He is believed to bestow longevity and is associated with blessings such as extending life and healing various illnesses. High: 25.5 cm Width: 16.2 cm Depth: 17.0 cm Weight: 1610g Condition: The condition is generally good. There is no noticeable damage. Since it is very old, there may be scratches, dirt, scuffs, peeling, etc. I kept it at home. There are many photos, so please take a look. Atention: The items listed for sale are all used collectibles. Please consider them to have signs of aging, such as stains, scratches, scuffs, tears, discoloration, fading, fraying, and changes in thread color. We will post as many photos as possible to make it easy to understand. As these are old items, we appreciate your understanding before making a purchase. Shipping: The lot will be carefully packaged and shipped from Japan. We will use either DHL or FedEx for a safe and secure transportation. It usually takes about 2-3 weeks for delivery, and the package will be shipped with a tracking number.
