A richly ornamented early 18th-century Northern Dutch teapot. This solid silver teapot is decorated with floral motifs and features a spout shaped like a mythical creature. In terms of quantity, quality, and exceptional craftsmanship of silverwork, Friesland occupies a unique position entirely of its own. Some objects, for instance, were exclusively crafted in this province and nowhere else. Additionally, the silversmiths in Friesland - unlike in other provinces where they were scarce - have practiced their craft for much longer than their counterparts in the rest of the country. The teapot has minor scratches and some restorations. Dimensions are 16 cm x 14 cm x 21 cm.
