Anne began diving at an early age at the St. George Dragon Club in Brooklyn, and was U.S. National Springboard Champion from 1940-1944. She was unquestionably the Queen of Springboard Diving during this period and, in fact, was picked for the U.S. Olympic team in the 1944 Olympic that never was.
