For History:
Woz once said, “Don’t trust a computer if you can’t throw it out the window.”
The Macintosh Classic was introduced along with the Macintosh IIsi and Macintosh LC as a trio of cheap computers. Apple introduced these models on the market to compete with low-priced IBM clones, which at the time were very popular. The Classic was the extreme low end of the Apple range. It was the cheapest of all Macs; available for as little as 999 dollars. It was the only Mac you could boot from ROM by pressing Apple + Ale + X + O. The Macintosh Classic was very popular in schools and among customers who were buying their first Mac. Unfortunately, it was clear from the computer’s appearance that the design was old.
