Viking Era, sold bronze mythological S-shaped pendant with the terminals decorated as dragon heads of the Dragon Fafnir. The amulet is complete with original suspension loop and is strung on a modern leather jewellery cord with lobster clasp.
In Norse mythology Fafnir was the son of the dwarf king Hreidmar and was slain by Sigurd. In Norse culture Fafnir was a symbol of strength and greed. The fateful story of Fafnir was a warning against the chaotic and destructive powers of greed.
Size: ± 24 x 16,1 mm (excluding suspension loop)
Condition: good solid condition, wearable, strung on modern jewellery cord. Signs of wear consistent with age and use. See images.
