Illustrated with a frontispiece in each volume and with nine plates and numerous in-text wood engravings in volume one, seven plates and numerous in-text engravings in volume two. A charming tour of historic, religious landmarks in the British Isles, replete with illustrations of places like St. George's Chapel, the Temple Church of London, Canterbury, St. Paul's Cathedral, Oxford, and many others. Books in very good condition. Externally bright gilt, very light signs of wear, inside stains/foxing especially at beginning/end but mostly clean. Complete. Uncommon.
