Both volumes are beautifully illustrated with 3 vignettes and 49 tissue-guarded steel engravings plates (printed on thick cards) as called for. Described by John M. Leighton. With remarks on the scenery of the Highlands by Professor Wilson. Illustrated by various artists, engraved by Joseph Swan.

Condition
External covers in nice shape, slightly worn at corners, and edges. Internally the books is in good condition. No names or inscriptions. Some foxing throughout, as is often with this work, especially on margins, otherwise clean and sound. All plates are present and in nice condition. The work retains the fine quality of the engraved plates (Please see pictures).
