Designed by Mario Trimarchi in 2011 for Alessi, the Fiato Sul Collo ('breathing down your neck') necklace. This Fiato Sul Collo necklace comes with a story. The piece is inspired by the harsh Scirocco winds from Trimarchi’s early life in Sicily. An extraordinary combination of the small rectangular metal cards resulting in a fascinating asymmetrical piece. The metal cards represent various papers blowing away by the warm Scirocco wind. Mario Trimarchi: Mario Trimarchi, born in Sicily, has lived and worked in Milan since 1983. He has been Director of Advanced Design at the Domus Academy and part of the Olivetti Design Studio, where he worked with Michele De Lucchi. In 1999 he founded his own Corporate Identity Care studio, FRAGILE. With FRAGILE he designs systems of identity, coordinated image and visual alphabets through which diverse individualities can be expressed. He has designed many trademarks, most notably for Poste Italiane, the graphics for numerous large exhibitions, communications systems for Italian design companies and, finally, many displays and interiors. About Alessi: Alessi, a renowned Italian design brand founded in 1921 Giovanni Alessi, has become a symbol of cutting-edge design and innovative craftsmanship, especially in Postmodernism and Contemporary design as well as some Bauhaus objects.
