Balvenie 12 years Golden Cask matures mainly in ex-bourbon casks, but is refined in casks that previously contained rum before bottling, which means that tropical notes can be found in this whisky. Of course, the sweetness, fruity tones and spicy influences that are typical of Balvenie are not missing either.
On the nose, hints of banana, vanilla and pecan combine with notes of toffee. Rich aromas of oak, spicy tones and dried fruit are complemented by toffee and sweet barley
